Sevilla is again interested in Nicolas Pepe from Arsenal, reports Diario de Seville Thursday afternoon. The Spanish club wanted Pepe when he played for Lille in France, but then he was unattainable. Now Sevilla wants to make a new attempt for the 27-year-old attacker.

In addition, Sevilla has competition from several clubs from Europe. Olympique Lyon, Olympique Marseille and Leeds United would also keep a close eye on Pepe’s situation. With the latter, he could become Raphinha’s successor. The Brazilian winger recently made the switch to Barcelona for a transfer fee of 58 million euros. Pepe is still at Arsenal until mid-2024.

Arsenal bought Pepe from Lille in the summer of 2019 for 80 million euros. In London, the 34-time Ivorian international was rarely able to impress. So far, Pepe has made 112 official appearances for Arsenal, scoring 27 goals and providing 21 assists. According to the Spanish newspaper, it will not be easy to get Pépé to Seville. Pepe would have to sacrifice a lot of salary when moving to LaLiga, to keep it affordable for Sevilla.

It seems that Pepe has his sights set on leaving Arsenal. In May he changed agent, after which his name was soon mentioned at several clubs. According to the Spanish media, Sevilla has made an offer of 18 million euros for Pepe. The Gunners would like to keep him at least 25 million euros. In any case, Arsenal seem to be heading for a big loss.
