Riqui Puig may start at FC Andorra, reports the Spanish Mundo Deportivo Monday. Puig was known as a great talent at Barcelona a few years ago, but now seems to be leaving for the Segunda División. The Catalan club is giving the 22-year-old midfielder the space this summer to find a new challenge. Puig is still on hold until mid-2023.

According to the Spanish medium, FC Andorra wants to give Puig a try because it has heard that the Spaniard insists on continuing to play in his home country. Trainer Eder Sarabia has already announced that he is open to the arrival of Puig. “If Puig wants to play football, I take the bike, I go to Barcelona and I take him to Andorra.” Xavi did not take Puig on training camp to the United States and gives him the opportunity to look for a new club.

FC Andorra happens to be Gerard Pique’s club. The central defender has owned Andorra since 2018. Last season, Andorra was promoted to the second tier of Spain for the first time in history. Andorra also has a Dutchman under contract. Hector Hevel, a youth product of ADO Den Haag, has been playing for the club since 2020. Over the past season, the attacking midfielder has played an important role in promotion, with six goals and three assists in 30 games.

Puig made his Barcelona main squad debut in 2018. Since then, he has played 56 official games for the club, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists. Last season, Puig played just 544 minutes in all competitions. In addition to Puig, Óscar Mingueza also seems to be allowed to leave Camp Nou. He was also not taken to America, where Barcelona will practice against Juventus on Wednesday night at 2.30 am.
