Olympique Lyon suffered damage for the second time in a row on Sunday evening. On a visit to low flyer Girondins de Bordeaux, the team of coach Bosz did not get any further than a draw in an attractive game: 2-2. See through the draw les gones are in twelfth place in Ligue 1; Bordeaux has the point enough to rise by one place to seventeenth place in the ranking.

On a visit to the number eighteen of the Ligue 1, Bosz went in search of recovery after the midweek loss against Stade de Reims (1-2). However, the hosts got the first big chance. Ui-jo Hwang was put alone in front of Anthony Lopes after nine minutes with a splitting pass, but the Korean shot straight into the hands of the Portuguese. Barely a minute later, Lucas Paquetá almost struck on the other side, but his effort was easily saved by Benoit Costil. It went up and down in the Matmut Atlantique, until Jason Denayer opened the scoring after half an hour of play. With a corner kick by Xerdan Shaqiri, the Belgian came much higher than his direct opponent and headed in the 0-1.

However, Bosz and his associates could not enjoy the lead for long. A dangerous low cross from Alberth Elis was unfortunately slipped behind his own goalkeeper Lopes six minutes later by Malu Gusto: 1-1. Lyon showed resilience and put things in order before half-time. A deflected ball came through Paquetá’s heel at the feet of Thiago Mendes, who scored hard in the left corner and put the 1-2 on the scoreboard. Despite the lead, Lyon continued to play in Bosz’s characteristic way: attacking, attractive, but with the necessary risk. It came to the visitors with half an hour left on the clock.

All Lyon players were in the hostile half when they won a corner and were not back in time to do something against Bordeaux’s razor-sharp counter. Elis came face to face with Lopes and kept the overview: 2-2. It was an unnecessary goal for Lyon, as it was by far the better team. Bosz knew that too: with fifteen minutes to play, the coach brought in an extra striker with Karl Toko Ekambi. However, there was no final offensive, except for a chance from fellow substitute Moussa Dembélé. As a result, the visitors had to settle for a point. Lyon therefore remains in twelfth place in Ligue 1, but still has a duel due. Javairo Dilrosun was allowed to participate in the last fifteen minutes with the home team
