Juventus seized the fifth place in the Serie A on Sunday evening. The team of trainer Massimiliano Allegri missed a chance, but was victorious: 2-0. Juan Cuadrado and Paulo Dybala accounted for the goals. In particular, Cuadrado’s goal, who suddenly hit from a corner, was of great beauty. It was the second time this weekend that a corner went straight into the goal in the Serie A. The same happened on Saturday evening in the match between AS Roma and Internazionale (0-3). Juventus has 27 points from 16 matches due to the victory over Genoa, leaving both Roman clubs and Fiorentina behind.

The game between Juventus and Genoa was only in the ninth minute, when Cuadrado scored for a corner from the left. The Colombian shot the ball hard to the far post and, to the surprise of many, saw his effort fall into the goal in one go. Sirigu tried to get a hand on it, but was unable to answer. The same happened to Rui Patrício the day before, when he saw a corner from Inter midfielder Hakan Çalhanoglu go through his legs. Juventus dominated almost the entire game against Genoa, but did not manage to close the game early.

The best chance in the first half was for Matthijs de Ligt, who had the ball on a pass from Dybala for the header one meter from the goal. However, the center defender headed straight into Sirigu’s hands. The rebound was not spent on Álvaro Morata, who visibly hindered De Ligt when attempting to work the ball in. The Spaniard was in any case very unhappy in the completion, as he once again destroyed a great chance on the stroke of half-time. This time he had the ball before typing on a pass from Dybala, but again Sirigu, who kept the game of his life, turned out to be an ugly obstacle. When Morata was taken to the side twenty minutes before time, it came to a verbal battle with Allegri.

Juventus also handed out the sheets in the second company and it was miraculous that the game was not decided at an earlier stage. Morata’s shot was turned and Dybala also inexplicably failed from close range. After Sirigu got in the way for the umpteenth time after an hour of play on a shot by Cuadrado, Dybala closed the game ten minutes before the end. The playmaker was served by Federico Bernardeschi and hit the target with a firm bang in the right corner: 2-0. On Tuesday, the Allegri team, which has already qualified for the kncok-out phase, will play the last group match in the Champions League against Malmö FF.
