Belgian football was marred for the second time on Sunday evening by misconduct by supporters. The match between Standard Liège and Charleroi was stopped a few minutes before the end of official time, after the match had already been stopped several times by referee Nicolas Laforge. Earlier that day, the Antwerp derby between Beerschot and Royal Antwerp (0-1) was also plagued by disturbances.

During the game between Standard Liège and Charleroi, the game was interrupted several times after home supporters threw fireworks on the field. A field attacker was also caught by security. The hosts did not make a great turn and were 0-3 after 88 minutes of play due to goals from Shamar Nicholson (twice) and Stefan Knezevic. The home crowd then expressed their dissatisfaction with a new shipment of smoke bombs, after which referee Laforge decided to stop the game for good. Then the chaos was complete.

Standard fans furiously stormed the field and sought out the Charleroi supporters. The police eventually had to intervene, just like earlier that day with the duel between Beerschot and Antwerp. During the duel in Antwerp, a Beerschot supporter ran onto the field in the second half and hurled a flare towards the branch. Referee Lothar D’Hondt stopped the match, but decided to let it play out after a short interruption. Royal Antwerp was already leading 0-1 and kept that lead.
