PSV has its eye on Daniel Quick, sources around the player confirm. The 19-year-old Crystal Palace central defender will run out of his contract next summer and is unlikely to see that contract extended. Palace has not yet taken action to extend the expiring contract. In addition to PSV, Borussia Dortmund has also expressed its interest in Quick.

Quick hardly makes any playing minutes in Palace’s promise team, as reserve players from the A-selection are given preference. The defender is said to be looking for a new challenge as the Premier League club has not yet taken action to extend the contract. Sources around the player report that PSV, Borussia Dortmund, Rangers, Leicester City and Southampton have expressed their interest in the defender. The clubs have confirmed that they are monitoring the teenager’s development with a view to a possible transfer.

The defender is described on Palace’s club site as “a confident defender who poses a threat to his height both defensively and offensively.” Quick was an important pawn in the Under-18s, which battled for the title in the Premier League South last year, according to the club’s website. “Quick names Sergio Ramos as his defensive idol, has confidence on the ball and is able to build from the back. He has benefited greatly from the support of former centre-backs Paddy McCarthy and Darren Powell at Palace. Not just on the pitch. , but also in setting the standards.”

Quick signed his first professional contract with Palace last summer along with seven other youth players. “These players, who have gone on to become professional footballers at Crystal Palace, have had to work hard and deserve to be thoroughly enjoyed,” said chairman Steve Parish at the time. “It is now important to maintain their level in order to develop further.” Palace therefore seems to have seen enough with six months, as the club does not intend to extend the expiring contract.
