Chelsea have won at the last minute against Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon. Kai Havertz, who may not have been allowed to be on the field after a rude violation, brought it in in the final minute thanks to a phenomenal assumption: 1-0. Further on in England, Everton – with Donny van de Beek in the base – went down again, this time against Wolverhampton Wanderers (0-1). The Toffees are now only on goal difference above the relegation zone.

Chelsea – Newcastle United 1-0
Hakim Ziyech returned to Chelsea after four games, which had a hard time with Newcastle. Kai Havertz got away very well on the stroke of half-time with an elbow that the Blues full in the face at Dann Burn: just a yellow card. Chelsea were saved in first-half stoppage time by goalkeeper Édouard Mendy, who responded brilliantly to a shot from Miguel Almiron. Chelsea seemed to be heading for a bloodless draw in the absolute final phase, but was taken by the hand by Havertz. The German took a deep ball from Jorginho sublimely and finished off in a controlled manner: 1-0.

Everton – Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-1
The home club, beaten 5-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, started with Donny van de Beek as central midfielder at Goodison Park. It did not give the ailing Everton a lead halfway through. Four minutes after the restart, things went wrong again for manager Frank Lampard’s team. Rúben Neves managed to reach Conor Coady with a ball at the near post and the captain made an impeccable header: 0-1. Things got worse for Everton in the 78th minute when defender Jonjoe Kenny was shown a second yellow card. The relegation zone has come a lot closer for Everton, as pursuer Watford won 1-2 at Southampton.

West Ham United – Aston Villa 2-1
The Hammers recovered from Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to Sevilla in the eighth final of the Europa League. The Londoners only struck in the final phase against Aston Villa, where Anwar El Ghazi was not part of the match selection. An emotional moment in the 70th minute for goalscorer Andriy Yarmolenko, who hails from Ukraine. He took the ball beautifully and then signed for West Ham’s 1-0 in a controlled manner. In the 82nd minute Pablo Fornals doubled the score, after good preparatory work by Declan Rice and Saïd Benrahma. Aston Villa was then unable to squeeze out a final offensive. Midfielder Jacob Ramsey brought the tension back in the final minute with a shot that goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski had no answer for: 2-1. However, the four minutes of stoppage time were not spent on Aston Villa to complete the comeback at the London Stadium.
