AC Milan has failed to reach an agreement with Club Brugge about the transfer of Charles de Ketelaere, reports The last news Saturday morning. It seems that Milan is definitely canceling the mega transfer. Although Club has already added water to the wine several times, the Milanese do not want to meet Club’s minimum asking price. A big downer for the 21-year-old Belgian.

A delegation from Milan flew to Bruges this week to complete the transfer, but has since returned to Italy, according to the Belgian newspaper. Club wants a minimum amount of 35 million euros for De Ketelaere. However, the Italians refuse to go beyond a proposal of thirty million euros. Milan would like to add another two million euros in bonuses. The supporters of the Italian club are now getting impatient, but it seems that both clubs will draw their conclusions after this weekend.

The last news also reports that Leeds United is now willing to deposit forty million euros for De Ketelaere. The English had already put the minimum amount of 35 million on the table at the beginning of this month, but De Ketelaere would prefer to go to Milan. Leeds already spent 105 million euros this transfer summer, but it seems far from finished. In addition to Luis Sinisterra (25 million euros), American talent Brenden Aaronson was bought from RB Salzburg for no less than 32.8 million euros. Former Ajax player Rasmus Kristensen also came over from the Austrian club for an amount of ten million euros.

With De Ketelaere, Club has a real gold mine. The tall Belgian has been playing for the Belgian national champion since he was seven and has played through almost all youth teams. In 2019, the Ketelaere debuted in the main force. Since then, he has played 120 official games for Club, scoring 25 goals and providing 20 assists. A financial blow for a self-trained player from Bruges now beckons. In the match for the Belgian Super Cup (1-0 win), De Ketelaere was on the bench for ninety minutes against KAA Gent last Sunday.
