Manchester United are still looking for the arrival of Antony. According to GOAL to go the Red Devils make one more attempt to take over the 22-year-old wing attacker from Ajax. However, the team from Amsterdam still sticks to a transfer fee of eighty million euros, which leads to the necessary frustration at United.

United have been chasing Antony for several weeks and his agents traveled to Europe early during the summer transfer window to seal a deal. The previous offer of sixty million euros was just not sufficient enough for Ajax, which sees no need to sell the Brazilian. For a fixed transfer fee of 57.37 million euros excluding 10 million euros in bonuses, Lisandro Martínez already left for United, while Sébastien Haller and Ryan Gravenberch were also sold for significant amounts to Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich respectively.

Ajax is therefore still holding on to an amount of eighty million euros before they are prepared to let Antony leave. The attitude of Ajax causes frustration at United, which finds the asking price too much for the nine-time international of Brazil. Nevertheless, according to GOAL with an improved offer, make one more attempt to realize the arrival of Antony.

Antony made a transfer from São Paulo to Ajax in the summer of 2020, where he signed a five-year contract. He has so far made 78 official matches for the team from Amsterdam in all competitions, in which he was good for 22 goals and 20 assists. For the time being, Manchester United brought three players to the club during this transfer period: Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martínez. All three have an Eredivisie past, while both Malacia (Feyenoord) and Martínez (Ajax) came directly from the Netherlands.
