Manchester United are thinking of Sofyan Amrabat as a possible reinforcement for the midfield, Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday. The transfer market expert emphasizes that the interest in the Fiorentina midfielder is not yet concrete and that there is no first offer in the making. Amrabat is one of the options being looked at by manager Erik ten Hag, who is keen to add a defensive midfielder to his squad.

A condition for bringing in Amrabat is that space is first made in the selection of Manchester United. Donny van de Beek and Fred seem to have no future at Old Trafford anyway and may therefore look to another club. In addition, there are question marks about Scott McTominay’s future the Red Devils. The Scotland international is a serious candidate for West Ham United, which is looking for a successor to Declan Rice.

Van de Beek can leave anyway
Manchester United have been trying for some time to get rid of Van de Beek. Meanwhile, Ten Hag tries to get top target Rasmus Højlund to Old Trafford through a creative construction. According to The Athletic Van de Beek has been used as a medium of exchange to lower the transfer fee for the Danish striker. La Dea however, is not waiting for the 26-year-old midfielder. An offer including Brazilian midfielder Fred has also been firmly rejected. Atalanta only wants to receive the absolute top prize for Højlund.

According to the Daily Mail Van de Beek is part of a major cleaning campaign by Ten Hag at Manchester United. The superpower reportedly hopes to have at least 23 million euros left over from the sale of the Dutchman, who is fixed for another two seasons. That is sixteen million euros less than the purchase amount in the summer of 2020, when Van de Beek came over from Ajax. The midfielder never grew into a permanent fixture at Manchester United and was rented out to Everton in between.

Amrabat
Meanwhile, Amrabat seems to be heading for the exit at Fiorentina. According to Corriere dello Sport the bond between club and player has even been ‘damaged beyond repair’ due to various incidents. Amrabat has also been linked to Liverpool in the English media, which is looking for a successor for the almost departed Fabinho. The interest of Atlético Madrid and Barcelona in the international of Morocco now seems to have cooled.
