Gareth Bale arrived in London on Friday to complete his return to Tottenham Hotspur. The Spurs the 31-year-old assailant will take over on a rental basis from Real Madrid, which the Welshman was eager to dump. The Daily Telegraph reports that Tottenham will only take over a third of Bale’s salary next season, which amounts to 9.8 million euros.

At Real Madrid, Bale earns a gross weekly salary of over 650,000 euros, which is equivalent to just under 34 million euros a year. President Daniel Levy, with the club leadership of the Royal that Tottenham will take over 240,000 euros of this week’s salary. It means according to the Daily Telegraph that The Spurs total less than ten million euros to pay to rent Bale next season from Real Madrid.

Real Madrid continues to pay Bale itself 415,000 euros per week. At an earlier stage, the Daily Telegraph that the the Royal was willing to continue paying half of the salary of the 83-time Welsh international, but according to current reporting, the top Spanish club has to make even more in order to get rid of Bale. Initially Real Madrid wanted Tottenham to pay 75 percent of Bale’s salary, but in the end, both parties ended up paying half of this amount. Marca wrote earlier that the English would even take over the entire salary, apart from the bonuses.

Coach Zinédine Zidane even left Bale completely out of his squad in the last games of the last season against Leganés and Manchester City (in the Champions League), while in the last thirteen league games he only acted twice anyway. At first, it seemed that Bale was planning to serve out his contract with Real Madrid that runs until 2022 without playing for the next two years. Now he will return to the club that he left in 2013 for 101 million euros for an employment in Spain.
