Heung-Min Son can also be admired in the shirt of Tottenham Hotspur in the coming seasons. The 29-year-old South Korean has signed a new contract that links him to the North London club until mid-2025, Tottenham announced on Friday through official channels. The midfielder’s previous contract expired in mid-2023. Son will start his seventh football year next season at the Spurs, after being taken over by Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.

Son is by far the best time of his career at Tottenham and is now ahead of 280 appearances the Spurs. In it he managed to score 107 times and prepared a hit 64 times. In April 2019, Son wrote his name in the club’s history for good by scoring for the first time in both the Premier League and the Champions League at the new home. A year later, he won the FIFA Puskás Award for his stunning solo in December 2019 against Burnley over 80 meters.

“It was already a great honor to be able to play here for six years,” Son says in an initial response to his employer’s website. “Tottenham has shown me a lot of respect and I am very happy to be here. The club feels like home, especially with the fans, the players and the staff. It was not a difficult decision to extend my contract. It was easy. I’m so happy to be here and will be so happy to see the fans again soon.” Last season, Son and Harry Kane set a record in the Premier League by scoring fourteen times from a combination.

“We are delighted to have signed a new long-term contract with Heung-Min Son as we move towards the start of a new season and a new chapter for the club,” technical manager Fabio Paratici explained about the contract extension. “Everyone can see the positive impact he has on the club, both on and off the pitch. We are therefore pleased that he will play a part in what we strive to achieve in the coming years.”
