Thiago Alcántara may officially call himself a player of Liverpool. The 29-year-old midfielder passed the medical examination at Anfield without any problems and then signed a multi-year contract with the champion of England. According to the BBC and The Athletic Liverpool is depositing thirty million euros for Thiago of Bayern Munich.

Thiago, who had an ongoing contract with Bayern until mid-2021, recently announced that he was ready for a new challenge. The club management of der Rekordmeister was willing to cooperate in a midfielder’s interim departure, provided there was a decent transfer fee on the table. Negotiations between Bayern and Liverpool did not always go smoothly, but both top clubs have now managed to reach an agreement.

Liverpool’s brand-new acquisition has been under Bayern’s contract for a total of seven seasons, resulting in 31 goals and 37 assists in 235 games. With the German superpower, Thiago captured seven national titles and four DFB-Pokal. The absolute highlight came in August when the midfielder with Bayern captured the Champions League at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain. After Konstantinos Tsimikas, Thiago is Liverpool’s second acquisition for this season.
