Gianluca Scamacca is very close to employment with Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian striker, who has a history with PSV and PEC Zwolle, has been in the interest of the Parisians for a long time, but according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the French club is now closer than ever. Sassuolo previously wanted to sell Scamacca for at least fifty million euros, but the club now seems to agree with an offer of forty million plus bonuses.

PSG previously indicated to Sassuolo that they did not want to pay more than 35 million euros. However, because the Italians continued to stick to a transfer fee of at least fifty million euros, the Parisians decided to increase their offer to 40 million euros plus bonuses. Scamacca would become the third Italian in the PSG selection in the event of a transfer, alongside Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma. The striker was previously in the interest of Internazionale and several English clubs, but les Parisiens seem to be drawing the longest straw.

Scamacca left AS Roma at a young age to embark on his first foreign adventure at PSV, where he ended up in the youth academy. The Italian did not play a duel in the main squad of the Eindhoven team and withdrew to Italy in the winter of 2017 to play for Sassuolo. Scamacca initially did not get a job and was rented out to several domestic and foreign clubs, including PEC. In Zwolle, Scamacca played eight games and never found the net. Last season, the striker made his big breakthrough at Sassuolo with 16 goals in 38 games. This also earned him his debut for the Italian national team in September.

Scamacca’s arrival may be related to Mauro Icardi’s departure from PSG. La Gazzetta dello Sport recently speculated about a possible departure of ‘the fourth man in the Paris attack’, who did not manage to break any pots last season with 4 goals in 24 competition matches (of which 14 as a substitute). However, Icardi himself does not want to hear about a departure and turned to Instagram to fire back at the sports newspaper. Sky Italy know that Sassuolo himself has already resigned himself to the departure of top scorer Scamacca. The club already signed Agustín Álvarez (Peñarol) as his replacement.
