Sheraldo Becker ignores Nottingham Forest’s dormant interest. The striker of 1. FC Union Berlin is having a very good season in the Bundesliga, but has spoken out loud about his near future. According to him, a possible departure to England is not an issue.

The 27-year-old attacker is on a roll this season in the German capital. He scored seven times in 23 games. Four times he prepared a goal. Partly thanks to its productivity, Union Berlin is in a respectable fifth place and is fully in the race for a place that entitles it to a ticket for the Champions League at the end of the season. He was also accurate in the Europa League and a diptych with his old club Ajax is scheduled for February.

Premier League doctoral candidate Nottingham Forest is said to have expressed an interest in Becker. The PhD candidate has already invested tens of millions of euros, but this season is fighting for survival. Despite the interest, Becker remains in Berlin. “I have a contract, I will stay,” he signed BILD up from his mouth. The attacker is realistic and knows how the football world works. “You never know what could happen in the future, but my focus is completely on Union at the moment. And if I stay, I will also give everything for the club. Every game and every training.”

The English interest also resulted in many private messages, especially from former teammates. For example, the Nigerian attacker Taiwo Awoniyi, who moved from Union to Forest last summer, has already been heard. “Many friends sent me screenshots of the messages. And of course I spoke to Taiwo. He also watches the news. We were already having a good time here (in Berlin, ed.), but I told him I hadn’t heard anything.”

On February 16 and 23, Union will play against Ajax in the Europa League. The Germans came second in Group D of the Europa League, behind Union Sint-Gillis and are therefore sentenced to the intermediate round.
