Riechedly Bazoer has expressed the ambition to take a sporty step up this summer. The midfielder, who has been retrained as a defender, is one of the stars at Vitesse and has a contract until the summer of 2022. A new commitment seems far away, because Bazoer has indicated in a conversation with technical director Johannes Spors that he is thinking about a transfer.

“I spoke with the technical director last week to exchange ideas,” Bazoer tells ESPN. “Of course I am ambitious and of course I also want to take a step. We will see. If there is a good club, I intend to make the step.” The former Ajax player, who ends the season on Sunday with a match against his old club, looks back with satisfaction on the past year with Vitesse. “I personally think that I have had a very good season and so have the team. Everyone has reached a very high level. We have shown that with this formation, with five men in the back, we are very difficult to play.”

A player who will certainly leave Vitesse in any case, is Remko Pasveer. The 37-year-old keeper switches to Ajax and is happy to leave Vitesse with a fourth place in his pocket. After all, this is sufficient for participation in the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League in. “That was my goal at the start of the season,” says the veteran. “Unfortunately we did not win the cup final, but on the whole we can be satisfied with the season. In the end I do miss a certain character in some of them.” In the latter sense, Pasveer is critical of Vitesse’s performance at Fortuna Sittard (3-3) on Thursday afternoon.

The fact that European football has been secured is a small miracle, according to the keeper. “You shouldn’t ask how. It was very bad, really bad. The real will to win was lacking in the duels. I didn’t think we really deserved it, given the match. But in the end we reached our goal. we’re happy with that. But I think some guys were already on vacation. ” He does not spare himself: Pasveer misjudged the shot from Zian Flemming that resulted in the 3-2 and let the ball slip under him. “Of course it sucks to get against such a goal, especially as a goalkeeper.”
