PSV and Southampton are in the market for Kamaldeen Sulemana, it is reported L’Equipe. According to the French sports newspaper, both the people of Eindhoven and the Premier League club have already made an opening bid for the twenty-year-old Ghanaian, who is still fixed at Stade Rennes until mid-2026. PSV’s offer consisted of a fixed transfer fee of fifteen million euros, excluding two million euros to bonuses. Southampton even made an opening bid of seventeen million euros, which has now also been swept off the table.

The number five in Ligue 1 does not just want to cooperate with Sulemana’s departure, as the club is currently struggling with a number of injuries in the front line. For example, key player Martin Terrier and million-dollar purchase Arnaud Kalimuendo are currently unavailable for trainer Bruno Génésio. Technical director Florian Maurice has informed Sulemana representatives with the desire to keep him for Rennes, but it is still unknown whether Sulemana himself is open to a longer stay in France. In the background, Maurice is now working on the arrival of Olympique Lyon attacker Karl Toko Ekambi.

Sulemana can hardly count on a base place under Génésio this season. The right-footed left winger has been under contract with Rennes since July 2021, when the French took him over from FC Nordsjaelland for no less than seventeen million euros. Ajax was also interested in his services at the time, but eventually intervened next to Mohammed Kudus’ bosom friend. Sulemana played twice for Ghana during the last World Cup in Qatar, the total counter now stands at fifteen international matches.
