PSV is involved in the battle for Joey Veerman, reports Football International Monday afternoon. Feyenoord has been making attempts to take over the midfielder from sc Heerenveen for some time and has made at least two bids. It is unclear whether PSV has already made a concrete offer in Friesland.

Last Wednesday reported Feyenoord Transfermarkt that a first offer from Rotterdam was refused by Heerenveen, and that a second offer has been submitted. That Feyenoord is seriously in the market for Veerman was recently confirmed once again by agent Fulco van Kooperen. The representative talked to The Telegraph an important nuance. “If they start asking Feyenoord eight million, it will be difficult. Just like for AZ, which also had extensive interest.”

“Heerenveen also knows that, because they did not receive the amounts. That is why he did not leave last summer. But now he has to leave and they know that too. That is why Heerenveen wants to participate in a transfer. But for how much?” asked Van Kooperen, who looks after Veerman’s affairs together with Nikkie Bruinenberg, wonders. According to Van Kooperen, Heerenveen is aiming for a resale percentage in the event of a deal. “I think: the higher the amount, the lower the resale. And vice versa.” Van Kooperen finds an amount of ‘around six million euros’ plus a resale percentage that is in line with the market for his client.

“AZ was around five million and twenty percent resale last summer. Heerenveen did not do that, because they could not get anyone. That argument no longer applies: now they know in time,” the agent indicated. In Van Kooperen’s view, what Veerman wants is more than clear. “Joey wants to take a step anyway. I think Feyenoord suits him very well.” PSV is now also on the market. The people of Eindhoven were also associated with Veerman last year, but ultimately chose Davy Pröpper as the new midfielder.
