Dante Rigo is close to a departure from Eindhoven. The midfielder has received permission from PSV to go on a training camp with the selection of Beerschot. There is no talk of a transfer yet, but PSV hopes to reach an agreement with the Belgian club on Monday. Despite a continuous contract until next summer, Rigo’s situation at PSV is hopeless.

From the fact that Rigo has received permission from his club to go to Spain with the selection of Beerschot, it can be deduced that a switch is near. In recent weeks, Rigo has trained with Sparta Rotterdam, but that internship has come to nothing for the time being. Now a return to his homeland is imminent. Beerschot is currently last in the Belgian Pro League, with only nine points from twenty matches, and is heading for relegation; the gap with number seventeen RFC Seraing is ten points.

The now 22-year-old Rigo was considered one of the greatest talents of the youth academy at De Herdgang for years and made his debut in September 2017 under Phillip Cocu in the main squad of PSV in a cup match against SDC Putten. His league debut followed nine days later. Rigo seemed to break through in the autumn of 2018 and PSV even shot to a 1-2 victory over Fortuna Sittard, but was injured a few weeks later. For the rest of the season, he mainly had to make do with substitutions for Jong PSV; In total, Rigo played 74 official games for the U23 team and 9 for the A-team.

In the prematurely ended 2019/20 season, the Belgian played sixteen matches for Sparta Rotterdam on a rental basis; in the first half of the 2020/21 season, he was stabled at ADO Den Haag, for which he played eleven times. He then finished the season with Jong PSV. In the first part of the current season, Rigo trained with the U23 team, but due to age rules, he could no longer play matches in the Kitchen Champion Division.
