PSV and (possibly) Vitesse know their potential opponents in the interim round of the knockout phase in the Conference League. In that intermediate round, which will be split over two matches on February 17 and 24, the runners-up from the Conference League groups will face a number three from a Europa League group. The draw will take place on Monday.

PSV finished third in the Europa League due to a defeat against Real Sociedad (3-0) and will therefore continue in the Conference League. Vitesse won 3-1 against NS Mura and is therefore currently second. If the match between Tottenham Hotspur and Stade Rennes is still finished, the Londoners will have enough of a victory to finish above Vitesse.

Clubs from the same country cannot meet in the intermediate round. The runners-up from the Conference League will play the second game at home. Group winners Feyenoord and AZ may skip the intermediate round and enter the eighth final. The draw will take place on February 25 of the new year. The matches in the eighth finals will be played in March.
