Paris Saint-Germain refuses to permanently sell Xavi Simons this summer, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano assured on Wednesday. A rental period elsewhere seems the most obvious option. Simons is playing on loan for RB Leipzig this season and is one of the trendsetters there almost every week.

Romano emphasizes that PSG has contacted Simons' management to inform them that a sale is not negotiable as far as they are concerned. The club sees a future in the Dutch international, although it remains to be seen whether Simons, with a contract until mid-2027 in Paris, is included in coach Luis Enrique's plans.

PSG management has allowed Simons to think about his near future. If the attacking midfielder decides that he does not want to play for the French champions, a loan deal with another club can be discussed. Simons can in any case have a say in the club he will go to on loan.

Barcelona

Simons is making a big impression in Germany this season. In 42 games for Leipzig, he has so far scored 9 goals and 15 assists.
