Peter Bosz has again had an extremely frustrating day in the Ligue 1. With Olympique Lyon, the trainer did not get further than a goalless draw at Stade de Reims (0-0). Bosz only experienced the first half hour along the line, as the coach was sent to the stands after persistent comments on the lead. Bosz exploded after a yellow card for his midfielder Maxence Caqueret. Lyon is in a very disappointing tenth place.

In the middle of the week, Bosz still achieved success by keeping FC Porto at 1-1 and thus reaching the quarterfinals of the Europa League. After only one league win in the last four games, Lyon desperately needed the points on Sunday against Reims, where former FC Groningen midfielder Azor Matusiwa started in the base. Lyon looked for the attack from the opening phase and played an imposed chance for Houssem Aouar with an acceleration. However, the midfielder’s effort at the far post was blocked at the last minute. Except for that one chance, Lyon could no longer convert the many ball possession in the first half into new opportunities.

Five minutes after the break, Moussa Dembélé missed the chance to open the score by aiming for the post from very close by after a low cross from Malo Gusto. Just before that, Dembélé had unfortunately gotten a low cross from Tino Kadewere on his heel. In the remainder of the game, Reims easily held their ground and the home team even got the chance to get the ball close to Lyon’s goal in the final phase. Bradley Locko played an opponent through the legs and aimed just wide.
