Peter Bosz will most likely become the new trainer of FC Twente. That is stated in the East Standa sports program RTV East. Reporter Bert van Losser reports that Bosz himself would like to work in the Grolsch Veste and that a too high salary for the Apeldoorner will therefore not become a stumbling block.

Twente has known for a few weeks that it will have to appoint a different trainer for next season. Ron Jans, the current coach of the Tukkers, is leaving and technical director Jan Streuer is also leaving in his wake. With Arnold Bruggink there is already a successor for the latter, but there is not yet a new head coach. Van Losser states that there is a good chance that Bosz will become one. “I have heard that he has already had contact with Twente himself”, Van Losser says on the regional broadcaster.

Bosz was fired at the beginning of this season at Olympique Lyon, a club that can pay much higher salaries than Twente can. However, this does not prevent an agreement between the two parties. “Twente does not have to worry about the trainer’s salary, because he would like to come to Enschede,” says Van Losser. According to colleague Tijmen van Wissing, the journalist would even have received an app that the deal has already been completed, but Van Losser disputes that. “There’s no white smoke yet.”

Bosz’s coaching career is characterized by the offensive football he wants to play, but also by a lack of medals. The only prize Bosz won in professional football was the championship in the Eerste Divisie in the 2004/05 season with Heracles Almelo. The 59-year-old Apeldoorner also worked as head coach at AGOVV, De Graafschap, Vitesse, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and therefore Lyon. With the team from Amsterdam, Bosz reached the final of the Europa League in 2017.
