Myron Boadu scored his first league goal for AS Monaco on Wednesday evening. The attacker received a starting place in the away game against Angers (1-3 win) in the Ligue 1 and took the opening goal. It was match number fifteen in the French league for the ex-player of AZ. With his goal, Boadu follows in the footsteps of compatriot Ruud Suurendonk, who since January 9, 1972 was the last Dutchman to score a league goal in the Monegasque uniform.

Boadu unbalanced the game after 24 minutes. After a nice ball from Kevin Volland, the Dutchman was released in front of Danijel Petkovic’s goal and shot the ball past the goalkeeper: 0-1. It was Boadu’s second goal, in twenty official matches, in the service of AS Monaco: he previously scored in the Europa League match with PSV (1-2 win).

Sofiane Diop made it 0-2 on the stroke of half-time, after a low pass by Volland from the left. The tension in the match returned ten minutes after the break, when a shot by Azzedine Ounahi through the post and then the back of the unfortunate goalkeeper Alexander Nübel went into the goal: 1-2. Axel Disasi determined the final score in minute 73 by completing an extended free kick from close range: 1-3. Boadu was replaced by Wissam Ben Yedder ten minutes before the end. AS Monaco rises from ninth to seventh position in Ligue 1 with the victory.
