Savinho continues his career permanently in Europe. Atlético Mineiro announced on Thursday evening that the only eighteen-year-old attacker has been sold to the French Troyes for six million euros, an amount that can rise to 12.5 million euros due to various bonuses. However, it is expected that Savinho will not take his first steps on the European fields at Troyes, but on a rental basis at PSV, as reported by Rik Elfrink and Fabrizio Romano, among others.

It Eindhovens Dagblad reports that Savinho will travel to France and the Netherlands early next week to complete the paperwork surrounding the transfer. Due to the complexity of the transition, the completion of the contract takes some time. The oral agreements between all parties involved have yet to be put on paper. The Brazilian youth international first signs with Troyes, and then reports to PSV. It is not expected that Savinho will be present in time for the training camp of the Eindhoven team in Germany next week.

Atlético Mineiro is actually selling Savinho to the City Football Group, the parent group behind Manchester City, which also includes Troyes. The Brazilian club will retain 12.5% of the economic value of the transfer rights. In addition, the total transfer fee can be seen rising towards 12.5 million euros in the coming period. The intention is for Savinho to sign a multi-year contract in France, after which he will gain experience with football in Europe at PSV. The Eindhoven club would like to keep him for several years, but is encountering regulations that make that impossible. PSV has not yet responded to the approaching arrival of Savinho.

It Eindhovens Dagblad reported earlier this week that the winger would ‘dearly’ want to join the Brazilian enclave of PSV. The people of Eindhoven already have some Brazilians in their ranks, with André Ramalho, Mauro Júnior and Carlos Vinícius. Initially, the newspaper assumed a place in PSV’s promise team, but in Brazil people are so convinced of Savinho’s talent that he is expected in the A-selection.

Savinho won the double in Brazil in 2021 with Atlético Mineiro. He plays on the right flank and is left footed. Marseille coach Jorge Sampaoli is full of praise for the Brazilian and called him a better player than Rodrygo (Real Madrid). His stats are less impressive. Savinho has only scored once in 32 official games. He also provided no assists.
