Latest update:

Mats Seuntjens will most likely make a transfer this summer. The 32-year-old Breda native is out of contract with RKC Waalwijk and is looking for a new employer for next season, he confirms in front of the cameras. ESPN.

Rumors have been circulating recently about the future of Seuntjens, who has been frequently linked to his old love, NAC Breda. It Algemeen Dagblad already announced that the first contact between both parties has been made. Seuntjens can confirm that.

Seuntjens is asked whether NAC is an option for next year. “Why not?” he answers. “I was born there, NAC has always been special to me. But I have also clearly indicated that I just want to end things on a good note here at RKC.”

“I have had a conversation with NAC, that is correct,” Seuntjens continues. “If you run out of your contract, you want to know what will happen to you next. That's not all that exciting. I am now focusing on RKC, but I also want to see what will happen to me as a person after the summer.”

NAC, which is currently eighth in the Kitchen Champion Division, still has a chance of promotion to the Eredivisie, but the club is already looking ahead to next season. The people of Breda have their eyes on Seuntjens, who already wore the NAC shirt in 130 matches in his younger years.

NAC sees Seuntjens as an excellent reinforcement for the vanguard. The 32-year-old attacker and attacking midfielder can play in several positions and that offers NAC the necessary opportunities. NAC could use an extra quality boost in the hunt for promotion or the fight against relegation.

During the winter transfer period, Seuntjens himself contacted NAC after his contract with FC Utrecht was terminated. At the time, it did not result from a collaboration, because Seuntjens opted for a return to another former employer: RKC. Now a return to NAC seems to be happening after all.
