Hedwiges Maduro will exchange Ajax for Almere City FC after this season. That reports The Telegraph Friday afternoon. In Flevoland, Maduro, currently assistant to John van 't Schip at Ajax, will become the new head coach. He succeeds Alex Pastoor, who will leave Almere after this season after 2.5 years.
Reported earlier on Friday Football International already that Maduro is one of the main candidates to succeed Pastor. According to The Telegraph The discussions with the former international are now in the final phase.
Maduro, a former Ajax player, was also able to stay in Amsterdam for longer. He was asked for the position of coach of Jong Ajax. He also has a contract until mid-2026 in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. However, he now opts for employment at Almere.
Maduro was taken over by Ajax from Almere for 600,000 euros last summer, where he then served as Pastoor's assistant.
