Mario Balotelli may return to a top European league. Several Italian and Spanish media write that Valencia coach Gennaro Gattuso has contacted the 31-year-old striker. Balotelli made an impression with the puny Adana Demirspor last football season, which has put him on the radar of several clubs.

Compatriot Gattuso is looking to score goals at Valencia and is said to have contacted Balotelli. The Swiss branch of Sky Sports writes, however, that the much-discussed striker Gattuso has given zero to the request and is on his way to FC Sion. A Swiss switch also seems more logical at the moment, as Valencia already has three strikers with Hugo Duro, Maxi Gómez and Marcos Andre.

Last month, Balotelli was also linked by Turkish media with a domestic transfer to Galatasaray. He pulled his collapsed football career out of the doldrums at Adana Demirspor last year. The colorful Italian propelled his Turkish employer with no less than 18 goals and 4 assists in 31 official appearances to a season of brilliant maintenance at the highest level. Balotelli went around the world on the last day of the competition with an insane goal, built from seven claws and a rounding behind his standing leg.

With his goals, Balotelli brought Adana to a relatively excellent ninth final ranking in the competition last season. He previously played for Internazionale, Manchester City, AC Milan, Liverpool, OGC Nice, Brescia, Olympique Marseille and Monza.
