Manchester City is serious about the arrival of Lucas Paquetá, as confirmed by various renowned English media, following transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano. According to The Guardian to have the Citizens more than 80 million euros left for the 25-year-old midfielder of West Ham United, who is still stuck in the London Stadium until mid-2027. The Conference League winner can make a whopping 38 million euros profit after only 41 games on Paquetá, who came over from Olympique Lyon for 42 million euros last summer.

City reported to West Ham club management at the beginning of this week, who are not keen to sell Paquetá. The Hammers already saw a mainstay leave for Arsenal in Declan Rice, so an exodus of the Brazil international is not planned. Paquetá himself likes a transfer to the Etihad Stadium. The technically skilled midfielder has been dreaming for years of working at the top of the Premier League.

At West Ham, the counter for Paquetá currently stands at 41 official matches, in which he scored 5 goals and 7 assists. The 42-time Brazil international played an important role in avoiding relegation from the Premier League and winning European silverware. At City, Paquetá can become the third major summer acquisition after Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic. Gvardiol came over from RB Leipzig for around 90 million euros, while Kovacic was picked up from Chelsea for 29 million euros. City saw two big names leave this summer with Riyad Mahrez (Al-Ahli) and Ilkay Gündogan.

Meanwhile, West Ham fans have lost their way. The Hammers already sold 156 million euros to players this summer, while not a single acquisition has yet been presented. Manager David Moyes hopes to welcome Ajax player Edson Álvarez and James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) to the English capital soon. According to Romano, Álvarez will cost around 40 million euros, while Ward Prowse has a price tag of 35 million euros around his neck. The BBC indicates that West Ham is already round with both clubs.
