Crysencio Summerville enjoys serious interest from Hamburger SV, report this BILD and Fabrizio Romano Friday. The club from the 2. Bundesliga reportedly wants to take over the 21-year-old winger from Leeds United on a rental basis for the rest of the season. Summerville also seems to be interested in the temporary switch, but trainer Marcelo Bielsa wants it, according to BILD a stick for stitches. Leeds has been struggling with frequent injuries this season and would first like to bring in a replacement, for which the club is looking around at Liverpool.

Summerville made the switch to Leeds United in September 2020, after the right winger did not want to renew his contract with Feyenoord. In his first season in England, Summerville played exclusively for the Leeds Under-23s. Last September it was finally time for his debut in the Premier League: Summerville was allowed to participate for 23 minutes in the away game against Newcastle United (1-1). For the time being, the counter stands at five matches in the highest English competition, of which all as a substitute.

There doesn’t seem to be much game time in sight for Summerville; yet Bielsa does not want to lose his pupil. The Italian coach has had to improvise several times in his starting eleven this season because of the large-scale injury problems. Romano, on the other hand, sees a way out for Summerville. The usually reliable transfer market expert reports that Leeds is indeed open to a departure, provided it can find a replacement. Takumi Minamino, who is not assured of a base place at Liverpool, would be high on the list.

If Summerville left for HSV, the two-time international of the Dutch Under 23 would join a nice list of Dutchmen. Rafael van der Vaart and Ruud van Nistelrooij, among others, played for the club in the past; the former in particular grew into a real club icon. Ludovit Reis has been out for since last summer that Rothosen, who are currently in fifth place at the second level in Germany.
