The ME had to act in a confrontation between supporters of FC Twente and Willem II around De Grolsch Veste. Supporters of the visiting club broke out of the supporters section, after which a fight ensued. The two clubs played a heated match (1-1) on Sunday, which resulted in off-field riots.

Videos circulating on social media show that the supporters break out of the supporters section, after which fans of FC Twente come to it. The ME intervened to keep the supporters apart. Similar events took place this season after FC Twente – FC Utrecht, when the ME also had to intervene after supporters of the visiting club broke out.

The ME also performed in Nijmegen on Sunday. Hundreds of NEC supporters sought a confrontation with the police after the duel with Vitesse. During the confrontation with the police, rioting supporters vandalized a police bus. Sticks, stones and fireworks were thrown at the police. The police made several arrests.
