Gianluca Scamacca will play for West Ham United in the coming seasons. The Italian striker is being taken over from Sassuolo by the English club for more than 36 million euros, Fabrizio Romano reports. PSV also benefits from this, since the Eindhoven club receives at least ten percent of the transfer fee.

In 2017, PSV let the striker leave for Sassuolo and negotiated a resale percentage of at least ten percent. That is now very convenient for the people of Eindhoven, because West Ham pays 36 million euros plus six million in bonuses to the Italian club for the services of Scamacca. PSV can therefore count on an amount of approximately four million euros. The striker will sign a multi-year contract at the London Stadium on Monday.

The transfer from Scamacca is a remarkable one, because for long it didn’t seem like the Italian would make it to the top. At PSV, the tall attacker never excelled in the youth academy and even after the sale to Sassuolo he was unable to break any pots for a long time. I Neroverdi rented him out to clubs such as Cremonese, Ascoli and also to PEC Zwolle. That club borrowed Scamacca in 2019 and he barely managed to make a difference there too.

The attack leader returned disillusioned to Italy after half a season, ten games and zero goals, where he did score last season and was accurate in 36 games in Serie A. It earned him interest from Paris Saint-Germain, among others. but it is West Ham United that are now taking off with the Italian’s signature. Confirmation from the London side is expected soon and then PSV can also definitively add the millions.
