Gabriel Jesus close to Arsenal move, Brazil report UOL Sports Wednesday. The 25-year-old striker of Manchester City has been in the interest of the gunners, which is looking for reinforcements for the striker position. The deal seems almost done and only the last creases need to be ironed out. Although a final agreement has not yet been reached, it is expected that the clubs will reach an agreement on a transfer fee of around fifty million euros.

According to reports, Jesus, who is still with City until mid-2023, can sign a five-year contract in London. The asking price of the Citizens was sixty million euros, although the club seems to agree with ten million euros less. UOL Sports reports that for the time being nothing is known about the salary of the Brazilian and any commissions. Arsenal’s technical director Edu Gaspar would play an important role in Jesus’ choice for the Londoners. The Brazilian duo already know each other from the joint period with the Brazilian team.

At Arsenal, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the undisputed number one striker for years, but the French-Gabonese left for Barcelona through the back door in January. Since then, the London striker position has been filled by Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah. The 30-year-old Frenchman as the 22-year-old youth product has an expiring contract and both are probably preparing for a transfer-free departure. With Lacazette, that is almost certain, but Nketiah is considering a contract proposal. The attacker hardly played a significant role at Arsenal for years, but has been in the starting lineup in recent weeks.

Last week reported The Times even that Lautaro Martínez would be the priority, followed by Gabriel Jesus and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Edu had previously spoken to Jesus’ agents several times. Interest has been dormant for much longer, a sign that Jesus (95 goals and 46 assists in 232 matches for City) also sees the switch himself. In 2016, Jesus 2016 made the move from Palmeiras to Manchester.
