French police have arrested three men for the robbery of Ángel Di María’s home, reports L’Equipe Tuesday morning. The Paris Saint-Germain attacker was the victim of the burglary in March, while he himself was playing the away game against Nantes. His wife and children were in the house at the time. The men, aged between 25 and 30, are also being questioned over a home burglary at midfielder Julian Draxler.

The events at Di María took place on the night PSG visited Nantes in March this year, with the Argentine suddenly substituted in the second half to return to his family after the robbery had taken place. In their home in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Di María’s wife found a small box in an otherwise completely empty wardrobe. The robbers eventually made off with jewelry and luxury watches with an estimated value of more than 500,000 euros.

French police also launched an investigation into a colleague who posted images of the break-in on social media. The officer in question was sent to the break-in and took pictures of the situation on the spot, which he then shared online. The police officer regretted the incident and confirmed that the matter has been investigated. “He took pictures of the family, the rooms and uploaded them on social networks. This should never have happened and gives a very bad image,” the officer told LCI. It is not known whether the agent has been prosecuted for his action.

The arrested men are suspected of involvement in the robbery of Di María’s home and have also been interrogated about a burglary at Draxler’s home. The midfielder was later the victim of a robbery. PSG has a sad history of break-ins. In the past year and a half, Sergio Rico, Thiago Silva and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, among others, have had to deal with unwanted visitors at home. Marquinhos’ parents were also visited by burglars in March. The defender’s father and mother live just outside Paris.
