Carlos Tévez, former striker for Manchester United and Manchester City, was taken to a hospital in Argentina on Tuesday with chest pain. The former Argentina international is doing well, according to his employer Independiente.

The club reported on Wednesday that several examinations have already been carried out on the forty-year-old Argentinian, but that all checks had satisfactory results.

The former striker of West Ham United and Juventus, among others, will remain in hospital for additional examination. There is no reason to panic, Independiente reports via social media. “These types of additional checks are part of the general investigation.”

Tévez has been a trainer at Independiente since last summer. Last Tuesday, the club played a draw against Talleres Córdoba (2-2) with the former Argentina international on the bench.

In the Argentine competition, the coach is sixth with Independiente, four points behind leader River Plate.

Talleres Córdoba will again be Independiente's opponent on May 12. It is still unclear whether Tévez will be on the sideline again during that match.

Tévez officially ended his career as a player for Boca Juniors two years ago. The 76-time international enjoyed great success with Manchester United, where he won the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the Premier League twice.

In addition to his great successes with the Red Devils Tévez also won the league title with Juventus and Manchester City.
