Feyenoord has again been fined for supporter incidents that took place in the last European season. The Rotterdammer made it to the final of the Conference League, but along the way the supporters did not always show their best side. That already resulted in almost 600,000 euros in fines and an amount has now been added.

UEFA reports on its website that the disciplinary committee has rejected an appeal from Feyenoord. The Stadium Club did not agree with the fact that it had to pay 15,000 euros after the lost Conference League final against AS Roma, but the European Football Association has decided that that appeal should be rejected. An additional fine is now imposed for an ‘unauthorized banner with a provocative message’.

Feyenoord fans had already made a mistake during a number of home games in De Kuip, where fireworks were set off and stairs were blocked. UEFA also imposed fines for this. In addition, there were various disturbances around the home and away match against Olympique Marseille in the semi-finals. That is also the reason that the Rotterdam supporters are not welcome in Rome on Thursday for the away game at SS Lazio. In addition, the Italian capital was not keen on receiving Feyenoord players.

The away game at Lazio is the first game in the group stage of the Europa League. On paper, Feyenoord immediately had the most difficult match, because it also plays against the Danish Midtjylland and Sturm Graz from Austria. The numbers one and two of the group advance to the knockout phase of the Europa League, while the number three of the group takes a step back and will continue in the Conference League.
