Feyenoord lost expensive points in the Eredivisie on Sunday afternoon. The team of trainer Arne Slot was unable to make a fist on a visit to FC Twente and was stuck at a 0-0 draw. The team from Rotterdam, who are no longer the team with the fewest loss points in the Eredivisie due to the draw, remain in third place due to the division of points with 29 points from 13 matches. At Feyenoord, prior to the game with FC Twente, there was a question mark behind the name of Bryan Linssen. The attacker was injured in the Conference League game against Slavia Prague (2-2) on Thursday, but was fit enough to play. Cyriel Dessers therefore started on the bench again. Between the posts, Ofir Marciano took the place of the absent Justin Bijlow, who has tested positive for the corona virus. Feyenoord countered that in the first half with shots from Marcos Senesi (over) and Marcus Pedersen (over). After the rest, there was initially so little to enjoy. A shot by Fredrik Aursnes could be caught by Lars Unnerstall, after which Linssen shot just wide after Wout Brama’s sloppy loss of the ball. Slot decided to intervene and, among other things, bring Dessers on board for Linssen. The striker was cold in the field when he fired on FC Twente’s goal for the first time. After Robin Pröpper completely misjudged the ball, Dessers could only approach Unnerstall, after which the latter made a save.
The visitors had the most right to a hit in that phase of the match, the last quarter. Jens Toornstra shot past, after which Unnerstall was once again in the way on a bet by Dessers. Tyrell Malacia shot just wide in the rebound. FC Twente also tried to force something in the final phase with a number of attacking substitutions, but had to see how Slot’s team effortlessly stayed on their feet. The last achievement of the match came from the foot of Dessers. The striker turned away from Pröpper on the back line, but then shot at Unnerstall’s feet in the short corner.
