In the search for an attacking reinforcement for the future, Feyenoord ended up in Brazil. According to Feyenoord Transfermarkt the Rotterdammers have aimed at Matheus Nascimento, a seventeen-year-old striker from Botafogo. According to the usually well-established Twitter account, the talent comes with a hefty price tag and there are ‘some snags’ involved. “A construction will have to be devised before his arrival”, it sounds like.

Attracting the Brazilian striker does not seem to be an easy task in advance. According to reports, there is a lot of competition lurking. “Clubs from England, Germany and Italy are keeping an eye on his developments. That will of course make his arrival in Rotterdam more difficult.” The contract of the 1.82 meter tall attacker with Botafogo will continue until mid-2023. Transfermarkt estimates its current market value at five million euros. Nascimento played ten times this season on behalf of the main squad of Botafogo in the Serie B. He scored once this football season.

Feyenoord is also still in the market for Amad Diallo. The Manchester United winger was already on his way to De Kuip last summer. A transfer fell through when the Ivorian was injured. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said at a press conference that Diallo is still on loan in January. Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter this week that Feyenoord is still a candidate. In the meantime, however, other clubs would also be involved in the battle for the former Atalanta player.
