FC Utrecht has released an option in Jens Toornstra's contract
Jens Toornstra will also play for FC Utrecht next season, the Domstedelingen confirm via official channels. Technical director Jordy Zuidam has removed the one-year option from the 35-year-old midfielder's contract. Despite his age, Toornstra is still of great value to Utrecht, which is pleased with his stay at Galgenwaard Stadium.
KNVB suspends Peer Koopmeiners for three matches after red card
The KNVB has imposed a three-match suspension on Peer Koopmeiners, one of which is conditional. The Almere City midfielder received a direct red card in the final phase of the match against SC Heerenveen and will have to watch for the rest of the season.
This also means that Koopmeiners has played his last game in the shirt of Almere City, as he will return next season to AZ, which rented him out this season. David Nascimento new head coach FC Den Bosch
David Nascimento will be the trainer of the main squad of FC Den Bosch from July 1, 2024. After his active playing career, David Nascimento held various positions in (international) professional football. Nascimento interned for seven months at Louis van Gaal's AZ and worked as an assistant coach at FC Utrecht and Chivas Guadalajara in Mexico. In Mexico and South Africa, Nascimento had the task of implementing Johan Cruijff's football vision. Nascimento last worked in the Netherlands as head coach of FC Eindhoven. Since then he has been national coach of the Jordanian women's team.
“I really wanted to be a trainer again at a club in the Netherlands, the country where I started my coaching career,” says Nascimento on the Den Bosch club website. “I am very pleased that FC Den Bosch has become that club. It's a great club, with fantastic supporters. As a football player I often played in De Vliert. I think that my character and football vision fit in well with what the people of Den Bosch want, namely to see attacking football with fight as a basis. FC Den Bosch still counts. Our ambition is to translate the impetus from the sporting glory days and the enthusiasm from the stands to the field. I will do my best for that.”
Hans van Breukelen presents a bowl at the PSV championship

Ambitious Canada is eyeing two former PL coaches
