Nicolás Tagliafico and David Neres may still stay with Ajax. West Ham United were willing to pay the €12 million transfer fee for Tagliafico and made the Argentina international a four-year offer. The left-back refused and it has been quiet from London since then, reports The Telegraph. In the case of Neres, Ajax seems to have overplayed his hand, or so it sounds.

Tagliafico currently resides in Venezuela with the Argentina national team. His agent Ricardo Schlieper cannot enter London due to corona measures, which, according to the newspaper, makes a deal almost impossible in the closing hours of the transfer window. However, Schlieper still hopes for some movement from West Ham. Judging by reports from England, there is little chance that the Premier League club will come up with a new proposal. Perhaps a rental can offer a solution, according to The Telegraph.

During this transfer period, Ajax made no secret of the fact that Neres may leave. After all, with the arrival of Steven Berghuis and Mohamed Daramay, director of football affairs Marc Overmars brought in two new wingers. Last week, an Italian and a German top club were concrete for the Brazilian international. However, Ajax is sticking to a transfer fee of approximately 25 million euros, where the club previously asked 30 million. Neres only seems to leave if a club wants to rent him, with possibly a mandatory option to buy, unless a club still reports with an offer during the closing hours of the transfer window.
