Trainer Fabio Grosso was injured on Sunday evening after an attack on the Olympique Lyon team bus. Before entering the stadium, the vehicle was pelted with ‘projectiles’ by Olympique Marseille fans, which injured the Lyon coach. Grosso had to go straight to the emergency room upon arrival at the stadium. Discussions are currently underway on whether to kick off.
Grosso arrived at the Stade Vélodrome with a bloody face, various French media confirm. Images circulating show how the windows of the players’ bus have been smashed. It appears to be stones, although local media have so far kept it to projectiles.

According to reports from, among others Footmercato Several windows in the bus ‘exploded’. Shards of the windows landed in Grosso’s face. The trainer was supported by two staff members and immediately escorted to the emergency room.

It is reported that Lyon’s players are in such shock that they are no longer willing to play. Crisis consultations are currently taking place to decide the fate of the Ligue 1 match.
The perpetrators have not yet been arrested or identified. Various media expect that the match will be moved.
