Orkun Kökçü has been suspended for next Sunday’s match between Ajax and Feyenoord. The number 10 of Feyenoord received a yellow card in the second half of the game against PEC Zwolle on Sunday. It was his fifth print of the season, which means that Kökçü has to miss the next game.

Eight minutes after the break, Kökçü got involved in a duel with Kenneth Paal. The Feyenoord midfielder hooked the PEC substitute and received a yellow card from referee Martin van den Kerkhof. Kökçü had a base place in all 25 Feyenoord league matches this season. He was good for 6 goals and 8 assists.

It remains to be seen how trainer Arne Slot will cope with Kökçü’s absence. Jorrit Hendrix and Jens Toornstra can come into the picture as his replacement in midfield. By the way, Tyrell Malacia and Marcos Senesi are also keen against PEC, but their first concern is to get a result from the game. At the time of writing, Feyenoord is 1-0 behind.
