Danilho Doekhi can count on interest from AS Roma, it is known Kicker. The defender of 1. FC Union Berlin, who also appeared on the radar of the Romans last winter, must still make the trip to Stadio Olympico next summer.

The fact that Roma is looking for defensive reinforcement does not come entirely out of the blue. Of the top ten clubs in Serie A, only Napoli has conceded more goals this season (36, compared to Roma's 35).

The club leadership I Giallorossi is therefore eagerly looking for a quality boost and ended up with Doekhi. The Dutchman is reportedly open to the next step in his career.

Doekhi transferred from Vitesse to Union Berlin on a free transfer in 2022 and has since become an indispensable part of the defense at the German club. After almost two full seasons, he has played 57 official matches, in which he scored 8 times and was a scorer twice.

Kicker know that Roma has contacted Doekhi's entourage to express their interest and discuss a transition. The man marker is still at Union until next summer.

Roma's search cannot be seen separately from Dean Huijsen's return to Juventus. There is also a good chance that Chris Smalling will leave.

Huijsen is rented from Juventus this season, where he still has a contract until mid-2028. The Dutch-born with Spanish roots has made thirteen appearances for AS Roma so far.
