Arsenal have started the new season in the Premier League with a win. On a visit to Crystal Palace, manager Mikel Arteta’s team was 0-2 too strong. The score was opened in the twentieth minute of play by Gabriel Martinelli, after which Marc Guehi determined the final score with an own goal five minutes before the end of official time.

Bee the Gunners Started signings Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko (both acquired from Manchester City) in the starting line-up. 21-year-old William Saliba also made his Premier League debut on behalf of the North London club. With the home team, Jairo Riedewald started on the bench. Purchase Cheick Doucouré, who came over from RC Lens for more than 22 million euros this summer, was in the base at Crystal Palace.

Arsenal started the game dominantly and had some opportunities early on. After twenty minutes, Gabriel Martinelli scored the opening goal for the number five of last Premier League season. From a corner the ball ended up at Zinchenko, who reached Martinelli with a header. The Brazilian then headed in the ball under goalkeeper Guaita. Crystal Palace were close to equalizing just before half-time, but Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was able to defuse a header from Odsonne Édouard.

Crystal Palace came out of the dressing room well and were close to equalizing via Eberechi Eze, but Ramsey once again had an answer. Tension mounted as the second half progressed and Palace continued to create chances. However, it was the visitors who scored the last goal of the game: a hard cross from Sako came against Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi, after which the ball ended up behind goalkeeper Guaita: 0-2. This makes Arsenal the leader in the Premier League for at least one night.
