Ajax has reached an agreement with the Ecuadorian Independiente del Valle and will hire Patrickson Delgado, the club announced. The eighteen-year-old midfielder is taken over for a season and a half. An option to purchase is included in the agreement. The agreement is subject to some formalities. Patrickson Luiggy Delgado Villa, who plays football under the name Delgado, will join the selection of Young Ajax after his transfer.
Born on October 17, 2003, Delgado has not yet made his professional debut for Independiente del Valle. He was never even part of the selection for an official game. The young Ecuadorian does have experience as a youth international for his country. He is the first reinforcement for Jong Ajax in the current transfer period, although it remains to be seen whether Delgado is immediately available. Because he is hired for a year and a half, Ajax has plenty of time to prepare Delgado for his debut in the Netherlands. Nothing is known about the amount of the option to buy.
