Brentford is currently unwilling to comment on a video featuring Ivan Toney. The striker has something to explain after a video appeared on social media in which he and another woman say ‘fuck Brentford’. The video appears to have been taken during a party. It’s unclear why Toney called his own club names: the video is only seconds long and contains little context.

In any case, Toney has some explaining to do when he shows his face again at Brentford. According to journalist Jay Harris of The Athletic the club is ‘aware’ of the video, but does not want to comment further. Toney, 25, has scored 6 goals and 2 assists in 21 appearances for Brentford in the Premier League this season. He is a regular base customer under trainer Thomas Frank, but the question is whether Toney will be part of the selection for the next game after his ruling.

Brentford will face Everton in the fourth round of the FA Cup next Saturday. The Bees can at least use Toney on the field, as the attacker is currently in good shape. He was accurate in Brentford’s last two league games. Both against Manchester United (1-3 defeat) and against Wolverhampton Wanderers (1-2 defeat), however, his goal did not yield a positive result.
