Terrence Douglas makes the switch from Ajax to Roda JC with immediate effect. Both clubs announced this in an official press release on Friday morning. Although the left back in Amsterdam still had a contract until mid-2023, the club has reached an agreement with the Limburgers. Douglas played twelve matches on a rental basis for FC Den Bosch in the Kitchen Champion Division in the past six months.

As a born Amsterdammer, Douglas joined Ajax’s youth academy in 2009. He started his football career with AVV Zeeburgia. At Ajax he went through all the youth teams before he ended up in the promise team. For Jong Ajax he made 44 official matches in the Kitchen Champion Division, in which he scored 2 times and provided 3 assists. Douglas played several youth international matches for the the Dutch squad.

Douglas indicates that he was ready for a new step. He enjoyed the six months in Den Bosch, outside his familiar Amsterdam. The choice for Roda was not difficult for the left leg. “After discussions with Jurgen Streppel, among others, I immediately noticed that my personal ambitions and those of the club match up well. On my first visit to Kerkrade, I was already able to get acquainted with the fantastic stadium and the facilities around it. I look forward to getting to know the fanatic supporters.”

Trainer Jurgen Streppel is very happy with his newest addition. “With the energy and drive to the front, Terrence is a player who fits perfectly into the system we like to play. In addition, despite his young age, he has already gained a lot of experience in the Kitchen Champion Division at Jong Ajax and FC Den Bosch. We are therefore proud that Terrence has chosen to switch to Roda JC.”
