Emanuel Emegha is being watched with special interest by Red Bull Salzburg and AS Roma. Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reports this on Thursday morning. The clubs see a potential future asset in the twenty-year-old center forward, who scored ten goals on behalf of Sturm Graz this season. Emegha also made his debut this week in the pre-selection of the Dutch Juniors.

Emegha has been playing in the Austrian Bundesliga since the beginning of this year, after seeing an adventure at Royal Antwerp fall into the water. In the Alpine country he did get off to a good start. In his second league game, Emegha already signed for a double and after 24 games, the counter is on nine league goals. He also made one in the Europa League and contributed to Sturm Graz’s cup win with an assist in the final.

All this has not gone unnoticed by Salzburg and Roma. The clubs see a possible asset in Emegha for the future. Roma in particular would mean a big step up for the youth exponent of Sparta Rotterdam. A year and a half ago, Emegha still played for the Kasteelclub, where he played 39 games in the first team. After that, Antwerp decided to pay him two million euros, of which amount Marc Overmars received three quarters from Sturm Graz six months later.

National coach Erwin van de Looi also rewarded Emegha this week with his first provisional call-up for the Dutch Juniors. The born Hagenaar is, next to Thijs Dallinga (Toulouse), Sydney van Hooijdonk (sc Heerenveen) and) Joshua Zirkzee (Bologna), one of the striker options for the upcoming European Championship in Georgia. Emegha has already played international matches for the Netherlands Under 19 and the Netherlands Under 20. In the Under 19 in particular, he shot sharply: five goals in seven games.
