Florian Thauvin is close to a switch to Tigres, various Mexican and French media report. The 28-year-old wing striker has an expiring contract at Olympique Marseille and will sign a lucrative contract in Mexico.

Including the Mexican Marca Claro Mexico and the French La Provence are convinced of the imminent transfer. At Tigres, Thauvin will be teammate of fellow countryman André-Pierre Gignac, with whom he already played at Marseille between 2013 and 2015. Thauvin has been one of the star players for years at the current number six of the Ligue 1. The winger can add, but prefers an overseas adventure.

Thauvin has been playing in France almost his entire career. In 2015 he made the switch from Marseille to Newcastle United, but he did not find ground in the Premier League. A season later, Thauvin was rented back to Marseille, which took him in again a year later. In total he is ahead of 279 official duels l’OM, in which he scored 86 times and delivered 61 assists. Thauvin was in the selection of France during the 2018 World Cup and came into action for one minute at the tournament as a substitute for Kylian Mbappé.
