SC Cambuur did not make a mistake in the Kitchen Champion Division on Monday evening. On a visit to Jong FC Utrecht, the Frisians already enjoyed a 0-1 lead at halftime, which was expanded after the break: 1-3. Thanks to the victory, Cambuur, which has 60 points, increases the margin compared to De Graafschap and Almere City FC, which are in the wake with 56 points and 53 points respectively. The latter still has a match credit. Young FC Utrecht still occupies the fifteenth place in the ranking with 25 points.

Henk de Jong’s team encountered serious opposition from the Utrecht U23 team in the first act, although the greatest opportunities were created by the visitors. After five minutes of play, it was Ragnar Oratmangon who almost slipped in the opening goal; In the tenth minute, Robert Mühren found Maarten Paes’ closing post on his way in an attempt to open the score. Halfway through the first half, Jeredy Hilterman had a good opportunity on behalf of the Domstedelingen, but his bet was turned into a corner by goalkeeper Sonny Stevens.

While some good opportunities emerged in the remainder of the first act, the teams seemed to rest with a tie. Still, the ban was broken three minutes before the teams went to the changing rooms. Oratmangoen had a good cross in the house on Mühren, who coolly tipped in the 0-1.

After an hour of play, the top scorer once again played a key role. At the far post it was Raymond Huizing who slid a cross from Mühren behind his own goalkeeper: 0-2. It was a special goal for Mühren: his hundredth in the Eerste Divisie. He made no fewer than 51 of these since the start of last season. This season the counter is at 25. Despite the considerable backlog, the U21 team kept looking for the tying goal, which was eventually found in the last minute of regular playing time.

Tim Pieters formed the final station of the successful attack and, on the instructions of Odysseus, completed Velanas: 1-2. The goal against did not cause any serious problems for the visitors, who recovered the advantageous margin of two goals within a minute: it was Issa Kallon who put the 1-3 final score on the scoreboard.
